Description

This program was designed to reveal two of the most spectacular caves in Romania combining the geography with history of Romania.  The first visit will be the cave called  “The Valley City”, accidentally discovered  after a hydraulic explosion in 1949. You will visit the spectacular interior of a 20 million years old cave having stalactites  and stalagmites, sometimes united in columns. The “Valley City” cave was declared protected natural area of national interest.

 The second visit will be “Dambovicioara”  cave formed during Jurassic period on limestone rock due to Dambovicioara creek. Inside there can be seen interesting limestone formations such as stalactites and stalagmites.

In the evening, drive back to Bucharest.

• Bucharest – Rasnov (visit the Valley City cave) – Lunch – Dambovicioara village (visit Dambovicioara cave)
