We were still able to see everything and there was still flexibility in adjusting the schedule so we had more time in Bran for photos and shopping. Comment: Went on the "Two Castles in One Day" tour, and while I recognize the benefit of having someone else drive rather than renting a car & a GPS to get to these castles myself, I really don't feel I got my money's worth nor the experience I was expecting. Most of the cost of the trip is for the gas, since the cost of entering the two castles is fairly low, and lunch is not included. The tours were lack-luster... Peles castle - visited too few rooms / too little of the property and I couldn't hear the tour guide at all, nor was she that great (too monotone, no enthusiasm for her job). Bran castle, we were ushered through quickly like cattle, without much time to read or see really anything. For lunch, we were taken to a restaurant that was clearly run by a friend and getting kickbacks - the food was just "eh" and pricey, and it took >45mins to get our food (which probably played into the pace of the rest of the touring). I would have loved to see more of Brasov but this part of the tour was a joke - we saw the outside of the church and a square... great... my friend and I decided to chug a beer in the 10mins of free time we had before getting back on the bus. The guide and the driver we had all day were nice & accommodating (making stops, being friendly) but we only had stories / history lessons for ~20mins total (5-10min talks on the way to each stop)... and again, monotone and run on, I could barely string the thoughts together to understand what I was being told. I like it so much better when we hear more personalized accounts of the country, growing up with the lore, what is awesome about a country or city... I found myself just bored overall. Recommend that other folks visiting take the chance of the rental car & self-guided tours instead; or, shell out for more focused tours across multiple days. Name: Tatiana

Comment: Undertook Transylvanian Break, followed by Real Dracula tour, both with guide Gabriel. The tours enabled us to see not only some of the history and architecture of Romania but also to see the beautiful countryside and rural life. Guide Gabriel was first class, being well informed, well organised, polite and always with something interesting to say. When we expressed an interested in stopping to photograph fields of sunflowers and later on , nesting storks, he stopped the bus so that we could all take photos. The mini bus was spacious and comfortable with good air conditioning on what were three very hot days. I would highly recommend these tours to anyone who would like to see the Romania that is outside of Bucharest.

Comment: I took the Last Days of Communism
tour with only one other tourist. We
had a superb tour with an excellent
and knowledgeable guide--Serban
Riga. He gave us a good explanation
of the background of the 1989
Revoultion (and Romanian life and
conditions under communism).
Serban was very willing to stop
anywhere along the way for detailed
explanations and pictures. The tour
also included a stop at the Parliament
Building, where you have the
opportunity to buy a ticket for the one
hour tour. As I had already done the
tour of the parliament bldg. the day
before, I sat out this part. The most
touching and memorable part of the
tour was the stop at the cemetery for
the victims who lost their lives during
the revolution. It was heart-breaking
to stroll past the graves of children to
seniors and individuals of all walks of
life. I think I will remember the visit to
this cemetery for a long time. I highly
recommend this tour, not only for
history buffs, but for all travelers to
further understand the practices of

Romanian Holiday (kids day I
believe?) I was in Romania
for a month working at the
Nuclear plant in Cernavoda
and the last few days in
Bucharest to finally see the
castles.
There were only 6 of us so
it was a small group, but I
have to say it made one of
my childhood dreams come
true, and that was to see
the castles in Romania! Our
tour guide Alex, by far, was
the BEST tour guide anyone
could ask for! Sooooo
informative, courteous, and

Sinaia erklärte Andrej uns

Bukarest und Rumänien im

jeder Sehenswürdigkeit entlang
der Strecke etwas zu erzählen.
Unglaublich, was dieser junge
Mann alles weiss!
Die Besichtigungen der
Schlösser, des Klosters und
der Kirchen sowie der Besuch
in Brasov am Ende der Tour
waren sehr interessant und
verschafften uns einen schönen
Einblick in die Geschichte und
die Kultur von Rumänien.
Andrej war stets sehr
kollegial, machte Witze mit
uns "Swiss People", war auch
mit "schwierigen" Touristen
sehr geduldig, hilfsbereit und
nahm auf die Bedürfnisse der
Teilnehmer grosse Rücksicht.
Am späten Abend kamen wir zwar
müde, aber mit vielen schönen
Eindrücken zurück und wurden
von Andrej sogar noch bis ins
Hotel gefahren.
Diese Tour ist absolut zu
empfehlen und wir möchten uns
vor allem bei Andrej herzlich
für den schönen Tag, welcher

I was at a loss for how to
make our four days in Romania
count and happened upon Travel

know much about the country, I
thought this might be a good
idea. In all honesty, this was

made! Gabriel, our guide, has
been giving tours for about 8
years now and his knowledge
truly felt limitless. I spent

Sighisoara: a 12th Century

I'd like to tell you that the
Romanian guide/driver was very
good. Ion was a young man 27?
years old, but he spoke good
English and knowledgeable.
He was a very nice, polite
gentleman and was also very
helpful and considerate.
We had a good time talking to
each other in the car on the
way to and back from the two
castles.
I had a very good, enjoyable
time traveling to Sinaia and
Bran castle.
I think the money you charged
was worth it. I thought the
Sinaia Peles Castle or Palace
was fantastic and the
surroundings was great. I
hadn't expected it was such a

two palace and were extremely
happy and delighted with
guide's flair for the job he
was articulate with positive
personatilty and covered the
12 -13 hour trip with ease and
without making me and my wife
feel stressed or tired.
The Places we visited were
great and was altogether a
great experience we intend to

Gabriel as my guide. He was
very professional, but also
engaging and fun. He provided
detailed and fascinating
information on all the
historic sites we visited, as
well as anecdotes about life
in Bucharest generally. The
only thing he might have done
better is to recommend some
streets in old Bucharest for
coffee, etc., but I did find
those on my own.
The price was very reasonable
for the excellent tour, and I
